Meet Our Pastor – Ray Taylor

I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve as pastor of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. I’ve been a member of Faith for over 20 years and look forward to the many opportunities for service that I know God has in store. Being the pastor of such a well established and dedicated church will bring it’s share of challenges,  but I know what God calls us to He will see us through.
I was born on May 30th 1974 in Baytown, TX and graduated from Ross Sterling High school in 1992. I’ve been apart of the American Baptist Association community all my life; first attending Calvary Missionary Baptist in Baytown until I moved my membership to Faith Missionary Baptist in 1994. I met Annette Potthoff in 1994 and, after a long engagement, we were married on June 5th 1999. We were blessed in 2009 with a son, Kody Taylor.
I accepted God’s call to the ministry in December 2010 and was licensed to preach by Faith Missionary Baptist on January 9th 2011. That same month I began seminary training at Heritage Baptist Institute. I was called by Faith to be interim pastor on August 24th 2016 and was ordained on September 24th of that same year. I was then voted in as full pastor on October 12, 2016. I have the privilege of following after two great pastors, Bobby Bryant Sr. and Johnathan Simons. I am so excited to have Faith Missionary Baptist as my first pastorate and look forward to everything God has in store for Faith, my family, and me.
